Well, it’s been a while – lazy, lazy, lazy
I’ve not done much of anything since last November. While I’m no artist, I’ve had a case of ‘boat-builders block’. In my past experience, my procrastination becomes greatest when I’m heading down the wrong path but don’t want to admit it to myself. I have been unhappy with my decisions about wiring, interior paint and the installation of the stereo. Silly, I know, but it bugs me nontheless.
So, I’ve purchased some proper bilge paint to ensure that it will take well to the epoxy. The other paint I had purchased scratched off too easily. Again, I reviewed the extensive information on the Glen-L website and was finally convinced not to be an idiot. After I finish the interior wiring I’ll rough all the surfaces and give them a good coat.
The stereo has been giving me fits (primarily because I have not a clue about what I am doing). Yesterday I decided to rip the thing out completely but I think cooler heads will prevail today. I finally broke down and bought a good soldering iron – my older one could only just barely melt the solder and it drove me mad! I’m hoping that today I’ll get a good mock-up of the stereo system put together that will improve my view of things.
The last issue is the wiring. I had planned on plumbing everything with electrical piping but the lack of “tees” in standard piping makes me unhappy. I think I’ll move to PVC piping, with all those tees, etc so that I can get all the pathways I want to the various spaces within the boat….
Hopefully I can get back to work. The unfinished boat is mocking me (as well as everyone else)…..
