epoxy – sand – epoxy – sand

So, I’ve been working on getting the final finish on the deck and hull. Here’s what the deck looked like once I’d gotten the epoxy applied:


And here’s what it looks like after I’ve filled the spanning gap w/ white filler (a long story with which I won’t bore you). I think it looks nice.


And here’s what the side of the boat looks like with a coat of epoxy.


Two more coats and I can start applying the varnish…

Here’s the look once the epoxy has been applied. The colors really “POP” once the epoxy hits the deck….


I was up early this morning, so I sanded the first coat I put on earlier in the week and then applied a second coat.

fabriction finished – finishing started

I finished all the fabrication yesterday. I finished the dashboard and the interior trim and installed the bow eye and the motor well drains.
Today I stained the center stripe using an aniline dark red mahogany dye. (I had used an oil-based dye but after re-reading the epoxy application materials I realized I needed a water-based dye). I think it’s looking pretty good.
